World Environment Day - A Green Step Towards a Better Tomorrow
Date: June 5, 2025
On June 5th, 2025, the verdant campus of St. Aloysius PU College, Harihar came alive
with a deep sense of purpose and environmental stewardship as the institution marked
World Environment Day with a remarkable series of eco-conscious activities.
The event welcomed dignitaries including Sri B.P. Harish (MLA of Harihar Constituency),
Smt. Amrutha (Head of the Forest Department), and forest officers Sri Rizwan and Sri
Dhanya Kumar. Their compelling speeches emphasized the urgent need for individual and
collective action to safeguard our environment.
A symbolic and hands-on highlight of the day was the student-led plantation drive, where
every student planted a sapling-each tree standing as a promise for a greener tomorrow.
The initiative not only instilled environmental values but also served as a living classroom for
sustainability.
The event concluded with reflections on climate responsibility, inspiring both students and
staff to take green action beyond the campus. The event was widely appreciated and
featured in regional news publications.
