76th Independence Day Celebration

The 76th Independence Day of our country was celebrated with grandeur at St. Aloysius P.U. College, Harihar, with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The college campus was beautifully decorated to commemorate the day. All the students and faculty gathered on the college premises at 8:50 am in the morning.

Mr. V. Veerappa, an Ex-Army personnel, was the chief guest for the program. He mentioned that when reflecting on the seventy-six years of independence history, we have witnessed significant achievements. He took pride in the fact that everyone lives together in a country with diverse castes, creeds, and religions. He urged the students to strengthen the bond of brotherhood. He shared his experiences from being in the Indian army and highlighted the sacrifices made by great men for the freedom of our country. He emphasized that we should also be committed to building a nation of peace and harmony. The program was presided over by the Superior of our college, Rev. Fr. Eric Mathais SJ. The Principal of the college, Mrs. Pushpalatha Urs, Vice Principals Mr. Mouseen Ulla and Mr. Pascal Fernandes, the coordinator of the program Mr. Manjunath (History Faculty and Sports Director), Students' Council President Miss Muskan, and Secretary Miss Sushmita were also present on the platform.

The dignitaries were welcomed in traditional style, and the NCC guard of honor escorted the chief guest to the stage. After the flag was unfurled, a floral tribute to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Ambedkar gave a unique touch to the program. The program officially began with an interreligious prayer.

Students from Red, Green, Gold, and Blue Houses presented a captivating cultural performance that depicted India's independence history in relation to the past, present, and future.

Miss Cisily from 1st Science welcomed the gathering. PU students Ms. Bhuvaneshwari and Mr. Ajith spoke about the significance of the day in different languages, and Sahana DG compered the program. Ms. Rabia delivered the Vote of Thanks.
