Inauguration of the NSS programme held on 8th August at St. Aloysious PU College Harihar

St. Aloysius PU College Harihar inaugurated NSS Unit on 8th August 2023.

Miss Shruthi from 2nd science welcomed the dignitaries. Thereafter there was a wonderful inter-religious prayer conducted by the students.

The welcome dance by the students set the tone for the program.

The chief guest was Mr B V Pradeep, NSS Officer from Dhavengere division.

Welcome traditional dance was performed by the students.

The program was set into motion by the lightning of the lamp and pouring water to the plant.

Around 100 NSS volunteers participated in the inauguration ceremony and it was inaugurated by the President of the program, Fr. Vinod AJ SJ .

The Vice Principal of the College, Mr. Pascal Fernandes, Dean of the Arts and Commerce Department Mr. Abdul Rahman G, were present.

The Chief Guest gave an outline about the various activities to be conducted such as Social Awareness, Orientation on Social and Health Issues, Education, Environment, Health, National Integration, Plastic Abolition, Campus Cleaning, Donating Blood etc. Volunteers were reminded of the NSS Motto "NOT ME, BUT YOU". During the meeting, all volunteers were informed to work for the progress of the society and not for any personal gain. Volunteers understood the importance of NSS unit and were very proud to be part of the same. They confirmed that they will work diligently for the welfare of the society.

Oath-taking ceremony took place and it was conducted by Mr Pascal. The Chief Guest and other Dignitaries along with the Student Council of NSS held soil in the hand and pledged to serve as part of the NSS.

NSS song was played and all joined in it.

Fr Vinod gave the Presidential Speech.
